Welcome to Scope's new brand

Unveiling our refreshed brand

Scope has changed a lot over the last 70 years, and our brand has grown with us. Now, the time has come for a new evolution.

We’re excited to reveal a bold new look and feel for Scope. Our refreshed brand is more than just a logo. It reflects this generation of disabled people — diverse, vibrant and proud.

There are 16 million disabled people in the UK and we’re still not treated equally in society. It is time for this to change. We want to make disability equality impossible to ignore.

What is changing?

As a pan-disability charity, we want to better reflect the diversity of the whole disabled community. We want all disabled people to identify with Scope and feel represented.

Our brand will put the lives of disabled people front and centre, sharing truths that expand views and inspire action.

We’ll be working with more disabled people to co-create content. We’ll provide a platform to amplify their experiences.

We want to make disability equality impossible to ignore.

Our new look features disabled models and influencers in striking portraits. It’s vibrant, colourful imagery with a real energy that attracts attention.

We’ve changed our strapline too. Our old strapline was ‘equality for disabled people’. We realised that the word “for” didn’t reflect our commitment to working together with disabled people to make change happen.

The new strapline, "Creating equal futures with disabled people," better shows our focus on working together. And encourages others to join us.

Why have we changed?

Over the last few years, the world has changed considerably for disabled people. During the pandemic disabled people were sidelined. The cost of living crisis has hit disabled people the hardest. And from speaking to thousands of disabled people, we know many feel forgotten. It’s time to put disability equality on the agenda with renewed energy.

Our refreshed brand will help us powerfully tell disabled peoples’ stories. It will bring our recently launched 10 year strategy An Equal Future to life.

We want a future where disabled people have the same rights and opportunities as everyone. Where barriers are removed. Attitudes are transformed. Where disabled people succeed, thrive and participate fully in society.

Our bold new look will help us in our mission. It will support us to reach more people and make new connections. This is essential in building a movement for social change.

We want all disabled people to know that they can reach out to us for support. And we want to encourage more people to get involved by speaking out, campaigning and volunteering.

How have disabled people been involved?

Almost 1,000 disabled people, and parents and carers of disabled children, played a part in developing our brand refresh.

We made sure that their voices were heard throughout the process by:

  • Conducting surveys
  • Consulting our lived experience research panel
  • Holding focus groups with disabled people and parents of disabled children around the country
  • Engaging our disabled members, disabled colleagues and disabled trustees.

As we refined our new look and feel, it was our focus groups of disabled people who made the final decision on the creative route we chose.

They wanted Scope to reflect the truth of disabled peoples’ lives. The feedback was clear: be authentic, diverse, bold and engaging.

How can you get involved?

We are determined to create equal futures with disabled people. But we need everyone to make it happen.

We are part of an unstoppable movement. You can join us by signing up to campaign with Scope or by following us on X, Facebook, Instagram or Linkedin.

Change takes time

We’re making this change as sustainably as possible. So, you might still notice that our old brand features on our materials for some time.
