Job description

Role purpose

  • Work on a diverse range of creative projects from signed-off concept to completion, focused on collaborative working and team development.
  • Inspire design colleagues, freelancers and external partners to ensure all creative projects are delivered on brand, on time, within budget and to a high standard.
  • Bring Scope's brand to life with exceptional and innovative creative work.
  • Champion co-production in everything we do.

Main responsibilities

  • Create artwork and deliver engaging and effective creative across Scope’s offline and online channels which identifies with our target audiences and drive our vision of Everyday Equality, ensuring all outputs are of the highest standard.
  • Supporting on graphic design work by coming up with creative concepts and designs for multi-channel campaigns.
  • Champion accessible and inclusive design.
  • Deliver high-quality, beautifully crafted, print and digital materials with a special focus on retail Point Of Sale (POS), as well as fundraising materials, booklets, leaflets, posters, social media, and web assets.
  • Play an active role in creative thinking and idea generation.
  • Accurately prepare files for printing in litho and digital processes.
  • Be a guardian of Scope’s brand and ensure work is consistent with brand guidelines and accessibility guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the Account Management team ensuring the successful delivery of multichannel marketing materials.
  • Reproduce, finalise and adapt existing artwork files as needed.
  • Support the creative team with day to day design requests and work collaboratively with teams across Scope.
  • Collate and take action on feedback from teams.
  • Comply with all Scope’s policies, procedures and external compliance such as GDPR, complaints and best marketing practice.

Person Specification

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Minimum level 3 qualification in graphic design (e.g. BTEC, Apprenticeship etc) or degree or solid previous experience of working in an artworker role, either in an in-house creative studio or as a freelancer.
  • Strong experience producing high quality, press-ready artwork.
  • Good knowledge of design fundamentals including typography, colour, spacing and layout.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working with colleagues in the Creative team on creative briefs from signed off concept through to delivery.
  • Accurately set up work for print production and digital specifications.
  • Experience of working within brand guidelines and developing work in line with feedback.
  • Knowledge and experience of designing for print and digital.

Desirable

  • Understanding of accessible and inclusive design principles and how to  implement them
  • Experience of working for charity brands
  • Understanding of the Social Model of Disability
  • Lived experience of a disability

Skills 

Essential

  • Able to present a strong creative and diverse portfolio of work.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • A strong understanding of technical information, finishing, paper and printing techniques and trends.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an ability to build robust relationships with internal colleagues at all levels.
  • A creative eye with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable – responding positively to change.
  • Ability to work to agreed deadlines and resolve conflicting priorities within projects.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop.
  • Good awareness and enthusiasm for new design trends and skills.
