What is Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a scheme governed and regulated by HMRC which enables charities to claim back tax contributions on behalf of donors to the value of 25p for every £1 donated by UK taxpayers.

Retail Gift Aid Sign up

You can sign up for Gift Aid in your local Scope Shop using one of our tablets, at the till point or by completing a paper form. We can then claim an extra 25% from the net sales value of items donated.

When joining the Gift Aid scheme with Scope you will be asked to confirm that you are UK taxpayer and own the goods you donate to Scope Central Trading Limited.

Tracking your Donations

When you donate goods to our shops, ask a member of staff who'll help you sign up to Retail Gift Aid. You'll receive a Scope Gift Aid Donor Card with a unique barcode number, which can be used when you next donate to any of our shops. We will use this number to track sales of your goods.

We're required by regulations to tell you how much your items have raised each tax year once your sales have reached £20 or every three years - whichever comes first.

When you next donate

Mark your donations with your unique barcode number to ensure Gift Aid is applied to your donations. Notify our staff of your Gift Aid donor details or print the label with your unique barcode number using Gift Aid tablet in our shops.

Updates and cancellations

If your circumstances change so that you’re no longer able to participate in Gift Aid scheme, please contact as soon as possible so that we do not claim any further Gift Aid.

If any of your details such us name or address change, please contact us or inform our shop team at your next visit.
