Role purpose
The Senior Content Designer creates and iterates content. Our content helps disabled people and their families solve problems. They manage, motivate and lead a Content Designer. They also manage freelance content designers that we work with.
Main responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a content designer
- Manage freelance content designers
- Manage the production and quality of support and advice content
- Design content using evidence from:
- user research
- keyword data
- web analytics.
- Work with colleagues to prioritise work
- Collaborate with subject experts and policy advisers to write information and advice content
- Research the language your readers use. Make sure your content is searchable, and people understand it.
- Use data and test results to improve published content
- Run critical reviews of all content to check:
- accuracy
- completeness
- that it meets Scope’s editorial, brand and strategic principles
- Maintain content documentation
- Facilitate daily team stand-ups
- Facilitate regular team retrospectives reflecting on working practice and suggesting improvements
- Support people in other teams across Scope to write content. This can include training and informal support.
- Advocate for content design and inclusive content. This can include writing blog posts and speaking at events.
